SSB Triple-layer Forming Fabric for Cardboard Production

The SSB triple-layer forming fabric features a structure design of SSB (sheet support binding) consisting of double warp layers with two wefts. The SSB forming fabric is recommended for use in forming sections of high speed paper machines for cardboard production. The very fine surface accomplished by our specially designed plain weave structure gives abundant supporting points. In that way, you can have better retention and the smoothest possible surface on top of nearly zero wire mark.

2.5-layer Forming Fabric

This 2.5-layer forming fabric is specially engineered for use in the forming section of paper and cardboard machines. The demands regarding high retention, tensile strength and life potential are fulfilled thanks to ample fiber support points formed by the increased ratio of weft density in the sheet-side (2:1 to wear-side).

Two layer forming fabric

As paper machine speed and fabric width increase, double-layer forming fabrics become essential.

  • Eight-shaft design: fine fibers retained on the top, coarse fibers at the bottom → better sheet formation, fewer marks, greater stability than single-layer.

  • Sixteen-shaft design: stronger bottom layer extends fabric life without reducing paper quality → often used for writing and kraft paper.

  • Mesh range: 60/cm to 32/cm, chosen based on paper type.

1.5-layer Forming Fabric

  • Suitable for secondary fiber reuse and grass pulp papermaking
  • Applicable to paper with basis weight 50–220 g/m²
  • Used in Fourdrinier paper machines or hybrid Fourdrinier machines
  • Helps reduce wear on the paper machine

Single-layer forming fabric (simplest type) It includes four different forms:

  1. Two-shed (one up, one down)
    • Mainly designed for use in sewage treatment plants, sludge dewatering machines, etc.
  2. Three-shed (one up, two down)
    • Mainly used in sludge dewatering machines, pulp washers, and bleaching machines.
  3. Four-shed (one up, three down)
    • Mainly applied in various types of paper machines.
  4. Five-shed (one up, four down)
    • Mainly used in the production of kraft paper, thin papers, writing paper, printing paper, and other papermaking equipment that requires high dewatering capacity.
